JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Vice President of Education, the Director of Language and Culture focuses on the nexus of Serrano language and cultural programming for the youth in the Tribal community in support of the 2040 vision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Designs and articulates rigorous, engaging, and culturally sustaining programming for First Nation’s communities
  • Manages cultural programming materials for pre-kindergarten through grade 12, as articulated by the
  • Assimilates cutting-edge research on language awakening programming on the North American continent.
  • Assesses the impact of the language and culture program
  • Manages yearly pacing calendars and scope and sequences for language and cultural programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Content, Education, or a closely related field, with minimum of 7 years of experience

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s Degree in Content, Education, or a closely related field, preferred.
