JOB SUMMARY

The UNLV Boyd School of Law has established a comprehensive program on Native American gaming law and governance. The INGG program leads national discussions around tribal gaming, governance, and economic development, and examines legal, historical, cultural, and ethnographic dynamics that continue to pose challenging political questions to tribal communities. The Program Director is expected to develop new programming and research ideas relating to Indian gaming, gaming law & federal Indian law

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Boyd Law seeks a Program Director as a non-tenure-track faculty member to lead research and programming in tribal gaming and governance. The successful applicant will be hired at the assistant, associate, or full professor-in-residence level depending on experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • The successful candidate will have a J.D., preferably from an ABA-accredited law school, significant academic or professional experience in tribal gaming law, experience working with tribal communities, and a record of strong academic and/or professional performance.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred qualifications include excellent project management skills, strong organizational skills with attention to detail, the ability to carry out responsibilities with a minimum of supervision, excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong service commitment.
  • Program Director will be responsible for: Organizing workshops and symposia on issues in gaming law and policy, tribal governance, and federal Indian and gaming law.
