Become a NNAHRA Sponsor

The National Native American Human Resources Association (NNAHRA) is a non-profit organization recognized under both 501-(c)(6) and 501-(c)(3) designations. Our mission is to serve, support, and guide human resources professionals and tribal leaders working within Tribal Country. Through a wide array of educational events, services, networking opportunities, and professional certifications, NNAHRA champions tribal sovereignty, self-sufficiency, and the right to self-govern.

From its grassroots beginning in 1996 with four tribes in the Pacific Northwest gathering to discuss personnel challenges, NNAHRA has grown into a dynamic national organization representing over 2,000 members and more than 400 tribes. Now in our 29th year, we are proud to have established ourselves as a trusted resource for human resources professionals and tribal leaders.

NNAHRA is Native-led non-profit guided by an elected Board of Directors who volunteer their time, knowledge, and experience to strengthen the organization and support HR professionals and elected tribal leaders working for tribes. The stability and commitment of this board are remarkable, as they consistently bring passion and dedication to advancing NNAHRA’s mission. The NNAHRA Board of Directors and team exemplifies the values of community and collaboration that are at the heart of Tribal Country.

Empowering HR Professionals and Leaders in Tribal Country

NNAHRA remains dedicated to helping those who serve in Tribal Country navigate the unique challenges of human resources and leadership within Indigenous communities. We provide tailored programs, certifications, and workshops designed to address critical topics such as benefits and compensation, succession planning, employee relations, and mental health awareness. These efforts ensure HR professionals and leaders have the tools, insights, and support they need to foster vibrant, sustainable tribal communities.

Whether through our signature Tribal Human Resources Professional (THRP) certification, advanced leadership workshops, or the annual NNAHRA conference attended by hundreds of professionals, we are committed to creating impactful learning experiences and fostering meaningful connections. Additionally, our Tribal Compensation and Benefits Surveys provide valuable insights to help organizations remain competitive and mission-focused.

As NNAHRA continues to expand its reach and offerings, we are honored to serve as a bridge connecting HR professionals, tribal leaders, and Native organizations to build stronger, more resilient communities. Together, we are shaping the future of human resources and leadership in Tribal Country.
