JOB SUMMARY

performs law enforcement and crime prevention services to maintain a safe and secure community for Cowlitz Indian Tribe residents. Honors and represents the mission, vision, and values of CIT and the Public Safety department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides security and law enforcement for tribal activities.
  • Interrogates victims, witnesses, and suspects.
  • Secures, documents, and examines crime scenes and gathers, preserves and processes evidence.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Federal, state, and/or tribal criminal history & sanction checks including fingerprint verification.
  • Medical, psychological and stress examination or test.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Certification from Indian Police Academy, Federal Law Enforcement Academy, or Washington State Police Academy.
  • Five years as a commissioned Federal, State, County, City, or Tribal Law Enforcement Officer.
  • Must reside within thirty minutes of the Cowlitz Reservation.
