JOB SUMMARY
The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of office functions in the tribal human resources offices including administrative, receptionist, and clerical duties for the human resources department.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand, interpret, and correctly explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, and/or regulations
- Perform searches for qualified job candidates, using sources such as computer databases, networkin
- Review employment applications, interview process and job orders to accurately match applicants wi
- Interview job applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, or job skills
- Conduct reference and/or background checks on job applicants
- Contact and/or respond to job applicants and inform them of the status of their applications
- Accurately communicate with job applicants regarding details such as duties and responsibilities,
- Correctly, accurately, and timely assist to hire employees and process hiring-related paperwork
- Schedule, plan, announce and as needed conduct a professional, accurate and affective new employee
- Prepare and maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, tr
- Address employee relations issues, such as work issues, work relationship issues, harassment alleg
- Ensure that exit interviews are conducted and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwo

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a High School diploma or GED
- Must have two (2) years working experience in a human resource clerical position
- Must obtain a Tribal Human Resources Professional (THRP) certificate in first 90 days or when the

- Cloud-based data access and sharing software — Google Drive; Microsoft SharePoint
- Desktop communications software — Skype, ZOOM
- Human resources software — Bamboo, ADP Workforce Now; Kronos Workforce HR or other
